the Peace of GOD

Well it's hard to fall asleep tonight because it is a big day tomorrow meeting our host families in the afternoon and moving into their homes in León. I am excited yet still a lot apprehensive knowing that this will be a big adjustment. I think we are all a little nervous to meet them, although everyone keeps telling us how great of an experience it will be. I don't doubt this, but am interested to see how the first week goes, getting used to their way of life and such while also starting our Spanish course!
So far, I have surprisingly gotten use to the changes we have had to make by coming to a foreign country such as cold showers, throwing away toilet paper in the trash, humidity and no air conditioning, and the different types of food, and just generally being in a new environment. I know that living with my family is going to be tougher and I will have a language barrier to work through too. It is possible, and I have God to rely on because it won't be by my own strength that I will make these necessary adjustments smoothly. I will most likely make some mistakes, but I do not need to be anxious because I know God is greater than these fears! How awesome!
I do want to thank God for the smooth transition us 6 have made in the 4 short days we have been here. It has been a great time so far, and I do not doubt that God has even more fun and learning planned for us this semester! Today, we attended a seminar for new missionaries and others new to the country and learned about what adjusting to this culture entails and how we can learn to understand and live in it better. It was fun to interact with those who had lived here for many years and hear what advice they had. It was very helpful and encouraging!
I know God has prepared me for this moment, I just can't help but be a little apprehensive to finally meet my Nicaraguan family! I will update soon and let you all know how it goes! Prayers for our families and ourselves as we all are adjusting would be wonderful :)

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, offer your request to God. And the God of peace, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" Philippians 4:6-7
I can't help but put some photos up. This is at the Nehemiah Center, laundry is done by hand..

That's a real plantain tree!...

Cara.
